ABOUT WANDERING RIVER, INC.
I’ve spent my career watching the tools change. The human part still matters most.
When I was choosing a fine art photography school, digital photography was beginning to reshape the industry. By the time I graduated, creative work was moving from the sketch pad to the computer.
Now we’re watching the same kind of shift happen with AI.
I’ve learned not to be intimidated by new technology, but also not to chase it just because it exists. The better question is: where does it actually belong in your business?
What should make your work easier? What deserves your attention? What should stay deeply human?
That’s where I like to work.
Good businesses don’t always need more marketing. They often need more clarity.
Since moving to Northwest Arkansas, I’ve been struck by how many talented small and mid-sized business owners are doing excellent work while trying to keep up with social media, digital marketing, analytics and an endless stream of new tools.
Most of them didn’t start a business because they wanted to become marketers.
And they shouldn’t have to.
Social media is one piece of marketing. Metrics are one piece. AI is one piece. Sometimes the biggest opportunity is something much simpler: a clearer message, a better offer, a strong referral network, a partnership or something that is already working but hasn’t been intentionally developed.
That’s the work I enjoy most: figuring out what matters and what doesn’t.
Marketing should fit the business.
Early in my real estate career, I approached six figures in my first year because I understood how I wanted to market myself, who I wanted to work with and what I was willing to consistently do.
Since then, my work across social strategy, paid media, content, analytics and customer acquisition has reinforced the same idea:
The business shouldn’t have to bend itself around the marketing. The marketing should support the business.
Today, I help founder-led and service businesses clarify their message, make smarter marketing decisions and use digital tools without losing what makes them worth choosing.
You don’t need to know what every KPI, CPC or UTM means. You just need to know what matters next.
